About Me

A deep personal loss inspired my return to education - my mother’s passing from a rare, aggressive cancer just three weeks after her diagnosis. That heartbreak became the turning point that led me to seek purpose through education. As a first-generation college student, I’ve navigated unfamiliar academic territory without a blueprint. At the same time, my neurodivergent perspective as someone with ADHD has given me the drive to create systems that work for me, allowing me to succeed on my own terms. Despite challenges with information retention, I’ve consistently earned Dean’s list recognition and, most recently, made the President’s List - proof that neurodivergent students can excel with the right strategies and support.

Throughout this journey, I’ve become a strong advocate for accessibility, learning to ask for what I need and turning perceived limitations into superpowers. Living with multiple chronic health conditions has added another layer to my experience. In March 2025, I was diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and a few months later, in June 2025, I received a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. These realities have introduced new levels of physical pain and cognitive challenges, but they have also amplified my resilience, adaptability, and empathy.
After an unexpected and difficult job loss from a construction company in April 2025 - during finals week, while awaiting a critical diagnosis, and just days before my birthday - I found myself at yet another crossroad. I now serve as the Office Manager at EUP Wood Shavings, where I work in an environment that respects me, supports my health needs, and gives me space to thrive professionally. With greater flexibility, trust, and creative freedom, I’ve been able to fully step into my strengths and bring value to a workplace that sees my potential.

This e-portfolio is a culmination of my graduate-level HRM studies, showcasing assignments from this semester and previous coursework. It reflects not only my academic accomplishments but also the heart behind everything I do. I am hardworking, helpful, resilient, and driven - but also sarcastic, stubborn, intuitive, and deeply practical. Whether it’s balancing work, health, and school, or solving complex problems under pressure, I bring grit, intelligence, and creativity to every challenge I face.

Through my story, I want to connect with others who are pushing through adversity, proving that personal setbacks can be stepping stones to growth. Education has become more than a path to career advancement for me— it’s been a vehicle for transformation, healing, and self-discovery.
